| Project Title: | Banach-Stone theorems and algebraic reflexivity |
| Abstract of Project : | |
| My Fulbright project addresses a contemporary and an important area of Geometry of Banach spaces, broadly described as Banach-Stone thorems. In this set up one considers linear maps on function spaces or spaces of operators that exhibit properties similar to isometries. Algebraic reflexivity is attained when all local surjective isometries are actually surjective. In situations where algebraic reflexivity is difficult to determine, we also consider global or local conditions to decribe elements of the algebraic closure explicitly. | |
